The first stop on Barys’ short road trip took place in Yaroslavl. Maxim Mukhametov and Emil Galimov returned to the lineup after injuries, and Adam Scheel got the start in goal.
The opening period belonged to the visitors, who opened the scoring shortly before the intermission. Riley Walsh fired from the blue line, and Alikhan Omirbekov did an excellent job screening and finishing in front of the net.
The second period was evenly matched, with both goaltenders taking center stage.
In the final frame, discipline failed Lokomotiv, while the Astana team made the most of their opportunities. Semyon Simonov and Ansar Shaikhmeddenov converted on the power play, and Emil Galimov sealed the victory with a late goal. Adam Scheel stopped all 27 shots he faced.
On November 17, Mikhail Kravets’ team will continue their road trip against Sochi.
