Barys continued their home series with a matchup against Avtomobilist.
The opening period was played under strong control by the home side, who outshot their opponents 13–3. However, Yekaterinburg goaltender Yevgeny Alikin kept his team in the game, sending both teams to the first intermission with the score still tied 0–0.
The breakthrough came early in the second period — Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan scored in his third consecutive game after a beautiful give-and-go with Vsevolod Logvin. Max Willman earned his first point in a Barys jersey on that play.
Five minutes later, a similar combination between Michael Vecchione and Mason Morelli doubled the lead, with No. 11 adding to his goal tally. Avtomobilist responded with a power-play goal by Curtis Valk, and right after the second intermission, Alexander Sharov tied the game, again taking advantage of a man advantage.
No more goals followed in regulation, and the game went into overtime. In the final minute of the extra frame, Tyce Thompson ended Barys’ losing streak with the game-winning goal.
On November 9, Mikhail Kravets’ team will host Metallurg on home ice.
