Barys wrapped up its long home series with a matchup against Metallurg Magnitogorsk. The coaching staff made only one lineup change — Vyacheslav Kolesnikov replaced the ailing Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan on the second line.
In the opening period, the visitors controlled the puck for most of the time, and as a result of sustained pressure, Daniil Vovchenko opened the scoring. In the second period, two precise shots from Sergei Tolchinsky, who completed a brace, forced the hosts to make a goaltending change as Adam Shill replaced Andrei Shutov.
Kazakhstan’s side got back into the game when Alihan Asetov redirected a shot from Samat Daniyar into the net, but that was as far as Barys could go. Roman Kantserov sealed the win for the visitors with a late goal.
On November 15, Mikhail Kravets’ team will continue its season on the road against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
