Barys Finish Far Eastern Road Trip with a Win over Admiral

Barys wrapped up their first Far Eastern road trip of the season in Vladivostok. The Astana lineup underwent further changes, with Michael Vecchione returning to the roster, while Beibarys Orazov played his first KHL game since December 7.

In the opening period, the Kazakhstani side looked slightly more active, earning one power play and generally controlling the puck more. In one episode, Michael Vecchione hit the post. In the second period, Barys turned their territorial advantage into goals. First, Kirill Savitskiy finished off a rebound after a perfectly executed faceoff play. Shortly after, Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan scored with a powerful and accurate shot off the rush while entering the zone.

Early in the final period, Emil Galimov capped off a well-worked combination by his line. Michael Vecchione then struck again, disappointing the Primorye crowd for the fourth time. Libor Šulák’s precise shot denied Adam Húska a shutout — the goaltender made 28 saves overall — but it had no impact on the final result.

Barys snapped their losing streak and now head home. On February 12, Mikhail Kravets’ team will host SKA St. Petersburg on home ice.
