In their final away game of the season, Barys traveled to Novosibirsk.

The Astana team started well and took the lead thanks to Dinmukhamed Kayyrzhan, who fired a precise shot from the slot as he entered the zone. However, the end of the period belonged to Sibir, who first capitalized on a power play (Andy Andreoff scored) and then netted two more goals through Pavel Gogolev and Nikita Korotkov. Late in the second period, Barys cut the deficit to one, as Beibarys Orazov scored his first-ever goal in the Kontinental Hockey League.

The final period was dominated by Barys, but they couldn’t find the equalizer. On March 20, Galym Mambetaliev’s team will host Ak Bars on home ice.
