As part of a trade between Barys and Avangard, forward Ivan Nikolishin has joined the Astana team (contract valid until May 31, 2026). In exchange, the Omsk club received the sports rights to defenseman David Sklenička.
Nikolishin has played nearly 300 games in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), representing Severstal, Kunlun, Amur, and Avangard. Last season, with the «hawks» Ivan scored 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 65 regular-season games and added 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 12 Gagarin Cup playoff games. In the current regular season, the forward has played 11 games and made one assist.
