Before the Ak Bars – Barys Match

Barys continues its road tour in Kazan.

Ak Bars, after a not-so-successful start to the season, has picked up form and won four of their last five games. In the previous round, Anvar Gatiyatullin’s team defeated Amur 3–1 on home ice. Goals were scored by Dmitry Yashkin, Grigory Denisenko, and Kirill Semyonov. At the same time, the team from Khabarovsk had only 11 shots on target, and Mikhail Berdin stopped 10 of them. The Kazan coach noted that his team managed to play the match with maximum concentration.

In 12 matches, the team from the capital of Tatarstan has earned 13 points. Grigory Denisenko (5+3), Kirill Semyonov (4+4), and Vladimir Alistrov (3+5) are currently Ak Bars' top scorers. Defenseman Albert Yarullin is listed as injured.

On Sunday, Barys was unable to get past Louis Domingue and lost to Sibir in Novosibirsk in a shootout (0–1). Andrei Shutov made 31 saves and recorded his first shutout of the current championship. Ivan Nikolishin and Roman Starchenko played their first games of the season. The latter became the sixth player in history to play in all 18 seasons of the Kontinental Hockey League. Mikhail Kravets noted the disciplined play of his team, which has hardly taken any penalties in the last three games. Barys has 12 points after 12 matches.

The Ak Bars – Barys match starts at 21:00 Astana time.
The live broadcast of the match is scheduled on the Qazsport TV channel.
