Admiral wrapped up their recent home stretch with a 1-2 loss to Traktor. Interestingly, all goals in that game were scored in the first period. Head coach Leonid Tambiev noted that his team had a chance to force overtime but lacked sharpness in the closing moments.

Barys suffered a 2-6 defeat to Severstal on Thursday. Team captain Roman Starchenko ended his personal goal drought, while 19-year-old Semyon Simonov scored his first-ever KHL goal. Nikolai Shulga (0+2) also registered his first points in the league. Goaltender Andrey Shutov recorded 29 saves. Head coach Galym Mambetaliyev emphasized that games like this are part of the team’s development process.
Barys remains at 29 points after 59 games. Alihan Asetov has recovered from injury and is likely to make his return in this matchup. Samat Daniyar and Kirill Savitsky will miss the game due to medical reasons.
