Barys opens its final home series of the season with a game against Ak Bars.
In the previous round, the Kazan team lost in overtime to Vityaz (1:2) on home ice. The lone goal was scored by Kirill Semyonov, while Timur Bilyalov made 20 saves. Anvar Gatiyatulin noted that a lot of emotions had been spent in previous games, and his team lacked energy in the match against the Moscow Region club.
Over 66 games, the team from the capital of Tatarstan has earned 83 points. Artyom Galimov (35+24) is one of the league’s top scorers and point leaders, as well as one of the most effective players in the championship (+30). Nikita Lyamkin (8+34) ranks among the top four highest-scoring defensemen. The injury list includes defenseman Nikita Evseev and forward Yegor Babenko.
On Monday, Barys concluded its road trip with a 2:3 loss to Sibir. Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan and Beibarys Orazov—who scored his first KHL goal—both found the net. Roman Starchenko and the team's leading scorer, Adil Beketayev (5+14), extended their point streaks to three games. Artem Shestakov recorded 31 saves. Galym Mambetaliev stated that his team had a chance to turn the game around during a 5-on-3 power play but was unable to capitalize on it.
The Astana team remains at 35 points after 66 games. Goaltenders Nikita Boyarkin and Andrey Shutov are still on the injured list. Additionally, Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan is likely to miss the game against Ak Bars due to illness.
