Barys will wrap up its five-game home stand with a matchup against Amur Khabarovsk. Earlier this season, the teams met in Astana, where Barys claimed a 4–3 shootout victory.
In their previous outing, Amur fell to Severstal in a shootout (2–3 SO), ending their four-game winning streak. Yaroslav Likhachyov and Kirill Petkov each scored, while goaltender Maksim Dorozhko made 44 saves. Head coach Alexander Galchenyuk noted that his team was simply unlucky in the shootout.
After 16 games, Amur has earned 17 points. The team’s leading scorer is Ignat Korotkikh (6+4). Goaltender Maksim Dorozhko ranks among the KHL’s top goalies in both goals-against average (2.11) and save percentage (94.1%). Defenseman Roman Abrosimov and forward Artur Gizdatullin remain sidelined with injuries. Before the trip to Astana, Amur’s coaching staff was joined by Alexander Andrievsky.
Last Saturday, Barys also suffered a shootout defeat — this time to Ak Bars. Vsevolod Logvin’s goal was recognized as the best of the week, while Kirill Panyukov reached the milestone of 50 career KHL goals. Roman Starchenko registered his first point of the current season, and Andrei Shutov made 26 saves. Head coach Mikhail Kravets said that, despite the loss, the team played with confidence but struggled to capitalize on power-play opportunities.
After 18 games, Barys has collected 17 points. The team’s top scorer remains defenseman Riley Walsh (6+9), who continues to rank among the KHL’s leading offensive blueliners.
The game Barys vs Amur will start at 19:30 Astana time.
