From November 5 to 8, Ust-Kamenogorsk will host the Women’s Asian Ice Hockey Championship. In addition to Team Kazakhstan, the national teams of Japan, China, and South Korea will take part in the tournament.
According to the IIHF Women’s World Ranking, Japan currently holds 7th place, China is ranked 12th, and South Korea sits at 18th. Team Kazakhstan occupies 22nd place (as of April 2024). The ranking is based on results from the Olympic Games, World Championships, and pre-Olympic qualification tournaments over the past four years.
Eight players from Tomiris have been included in Kazakhstan’s final roster. The national team will be led by coaching duo Alexander Tebenkov and Zhasulan Orazbayev, who also represent the Astana-based club.
Goaltenders: Veronika Ageeva, Polina Govtva (both – Torpedo), Arina Shchyokolova (Tomiris).
Defenders: Yulia Butorina, Daria Moldabay (A), Alexandra Voronova (all – Tomiris), Katrin Meskini, Polina Yakovleva (both – Torpedo), Aida Olzhabayeva, Anna Pyatkova, Madina Tursynova (all – Aisulu).
