Vyacheslav Butsaev – head coach of Barys

Barys announces the end of cooperation with David Nemirovsky. Max Markowitz and Steve McGeache have also left the coaching staff. The club thanks them for their work and wishes them success in their future careers!

The new head coach of Barys is Vyacheslav Butsaev. His contract will be valid until the end of the current season.

As a player, Butsaev became an Olympic and World Champion, as well as a champion in Russia and Sweden. In addition, he played over 130 games in the National Hockey League.

As a head coach in the KHL, Vyacheslav Gennadyevich led CSKA, Sochi, and Neftekhimik. His most recent position was with Vityaz, with whom he reached the KHL playoffs in the 2022-23 season.

The Barys coaching staff will continue to include Evgeny Korolev, Talgat Zhaylauov, Oleg Romashko, Andrey Shayanov, Kirill Legchakov and Sergey Tambulov.
