Barys concluded their home series with a match against Avtomobilist. A month after being out, Roman Starchenko returned to the Astana team’s lineup, joined by Mikhail Rakhmanov and Vsevolod Logvin, who both missed the previous game against Ak Bars. Andrei Shutov started in goal from the first minutes.
In the opening period, the visitors maintained more control in Barys’ zone, aided by two penalties on the Astana side. Avtomobilist managed 17 shots on target in the period, but Barys’ defense held strong. Just before the break, the hosts capitalized on one of their counterattacks—Nikita Setdikov scored his first goal for the Kazakhstan club.
Early in the final period, the hosts took three consecutive penalties, giving Avtomobilist a chance in a 5-on-3 format, but they couldn’t break through. However, the visitors found success at even strength when Nikita Tryamkin’s shot proved unstoppable. Soon after, Avtomobilist capitalized on a power play with a goal from Brendan Leipsic. Stefan Da Costa later sealed the match. Despite Shutov’s 41 saves in his first game back, Barys couldn't earn any points in the encounter.
On November 11, Galym Mambetaliev's team will play on the road against Neftekhimik.
