Arkady Shestakov: Fans supported us a lot and drove us forward

Barys forward Arkady Shestakov summed up the results of the last home match with CSKA.

- The game was going well for us. Opponent was seriously outshot in the first and second periods. I think we were superior in terms of movement, passes, shots, but did not score enough goals. There were several scoring chances that we had to implement. Then it would be easier to play in the end.

- Last week, Barys outplayed CSKA in Moscow. Did you keep in mind that the opponent will chase the score?

- It was clear that CSKA would want to win back. In that match, we had a good third period and the victory remained with us. Today we came out again with the same competitive spirit: a lot of movement, confident entry into the zone, all actions were aimed at the gate. Basically we did a lot of things.

- How do you think the team is physically ready to play at such pace throughout all three periods, especially given the very busy schedule?

- I think that we have already gained certain physical condition and are approaching the peak. But we can advance our movement and other components as well. The coaching staff constantly analyzes and shows us various moments. We are able to improve the game and act at this pace.

- We can't help but talk about our fans. How do you like the atmosphere at the match?

- The atmosphere was great. This was especially felt when we had delayed positional attacks in the opponent's zone. They supported us a lot and drove us forward. I want to thank the fans, despite everything, they come to our matches and give extra energy.
