Arkady Shestakov Returns to Barys

Barys Hockey Club has signed Kazakhstan national team forward Arkady Shestakov to a two-year, one-way contract running through 31 May 2028.

Shestakov previously played for Barys from 2019 to 2024 before spending the last two seasons with Admiral Vladivostok. In 64 regular-season games last season, the centreman recorded 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists). He also won 59.5% of his faceoffs, blocked 34 shots, and averaged 15 and a half minutes of ice time per game.

Leonid Metalnikov, General Manager of Barys:

"Arkady is an extremely hard-working centreman. He is a disciplined player who never shies away from physical play and is always willing to do the hard work. Shestakov is one of the leaders of Kazakhstan's national team. We know very well what he is capable of in the faceoff circle, where he consistently posts excellent numbers. This signing strengthens the middle of our lineup."
