In their final home game of November, Barys hosted Avangard. After the win over Salavat, the Astana coaching staff kept the lineup unchanged, with Adam Shil once again starting in net.
His shutout streak ended at 112 minutes and 24 seconds when Vasiliy Ponomaryov capitalized on a favorable bounce to open the scoring. The key moment of the game came at the start of the second period: it took Omsk less than a minute to seize full control. After goals from Mikhail Kotlyarevsky and Mikhail Gulyayev, Andrei Shutov stepped in, but he also couldn’t keep the puck out — Ponomaryov and Kotlyarevsky each completed their braces.
Barys got on the board when Alikhan Omirbekov broke through Andrei Mishurov. And shortly before the final buzzer, Max Willman scored his first career KHL goal. But the late push didn’t change the outcome. On November 27, Mikhail Kravets’ team will face Salavat Yulaev on the road in Ufa.
