Mikhail Kravets, Avangard's Head Trainer

- A difficult game, a very difficult game I'd say. Our opponent played at good velocities, it was obvious that the team was energized, they played very decent pressure game. I'm glad that in the second period we showed skill and desire, and most importance - we followed the instructions. We kept the puck, played more in the opponent's zone. Of course, we could have decided earlier, unfortunately we didn't score very easy chances in the third period. But we persevered and won. We proved our spirit and with all four units together with the goalie we achieved this difficult victory.

- What was the subject of the conversation with Mikhail Gulyaev when you were emotionally drawing on the tablet and showing him something?

- I would "throw" Misha every shift to do the work required of him, not every other shift, and not every other shift. Misha played very well today, I'm happy with his game, and he did a lot of things right. Played safe and confident. And on the tablet, there we gave a little bit of guidance on how to play on the throw-in if we're trying to shoot on goal.

- This season we played with Barys, which was managed by Skabelka, then Mambetaliyev. Can we say that Barys under Bolyakin is the most uncomfortable for Avangard?

- At 200 percent, the team has become more aggressive, more active. We stopped playing a passive defense and started playing good, aggressive hockey. And I think a lot of chances are converted by the guys. With each game they added and it's no coincidence that they beat us, "Traktor" and other teams.

- Guys were fighting, doing their best. Content of play in the first and third periods was pretty good. There were some curious moments, somewhere we gave the puck to the opponent with our own hands. And, as I said, we have certain problems in defense, and these problems affect the result. Although we create quite a lot, but, of course, it is very hard to win with one goal. We get unnecessary goals for our rash actions and when players lose their sectors. It's always harder to catch up. There were good enough chances in the third period, we need to convert it.

- Does it seem like there's not enough luck?

- We're worried about that, too. We talked to the guys, we went over these things. Well, if you can't score goals like that, then you have to score goals with relish. Once again though, I have no complaints about the job the guys are doing. There are no indifferent people in our team, everyone tries to show a good game. I think the guys are doing their job with integrity.

- How much did Anthony Camara's absence affect today's game?

- I've said before that we lose key players in almost every game. Some drop out due to injuries, some for family reasons. Obviously, for our team every unit, especially Camara, is a tangible loss. Roma Starchenko is back, but he has not yet gained the conditioning he needs. He's missed a lot, so of course we're feeling the staffing shortage.

- In December, you played this same team and won. How much stronger was Avangard today?

- I wouldn't say they were much stronger than us. Basically, it was an even game. We blew the start of the second period a little bit. Some of our players, for some reason, stopped moving, especially the defensemen. We started making unnecessary mistakes. When we played with Avangard before the New Year, we had a full-fledged lineup, full-fledged four units. Now one player drops out or the other, the connections are broken. This is not an excuse, it is a statement of fact.
