In the third game of the home series, Barys failed to score a goal against Lokomotiv.

The home team's coaching staff made only one change in the lineup. Ansar Shaykhmeddenov replaced Aleksandr Borisevich at the position of the fourth-line centre forward.

The guests opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the game. Daniil But took advantage of the inconsistent actions of the Astana defence and outplayed Edward Pasquale in close combat. In the middle of the game, Yaroslavl organized a great second-period attack and Pavel Kraskovsky consolidated his team's lead. The third puck flew into the Barys goal early in the third period when Kraskovsky made a good play in the slot on the power play. A little later, the visitors once again capitalized on man-advantage through Maxim Shalunov. Later, Daniil But, who made a double, and Daniil Tesanov brought the score to a big one. The final siren recorded a confident victory for Lokomotiv.

On 15 October, Astana will host Metallurg on home ice.
