In their final home game of January, Barys hosted Admiral. Mason Morelli missed the game for medical reasons, while team captain Kirill Savitskiy returned to the lineup after recovering from injury. Adam Scheel once again got the start in goal for the Astana side.
The visitors had the better of the opening period and capitalized on one of their two dangerous chances. Dmitry Zavgorodniy finished off a two-on-one rush with a precise shot. Barys responded early in the second frame when Tye Thompson joined a counterattack and tied the game. Midway through the period, Dmytro Tymashov restored Admiral's lead. Although the goal came after a power play, it was actually scored at five-on-five. Shortly afterward, Kyle Olson added another goal while Admiral was shorthanded.
Barys controlled much of the third period in the offensive zone, but goals from Stepan Starkov and Vyacheslav Osnovin put the game out of reach. Jake Massie found the back of the net late in the contest, but it was not enough to prevent Barys from suffering their fourth consecutive defeat.
On January 31, Mikhail Kravets' team will face Amur in Khabarovsk.
