Barys Ends Point Streak

In the first game of their road trip, Barys faced Neftekhimik.
The coaching staff once again decided not to make major changes to the lineup, limiting adjustments to the traditional goaltending rotation — Andrei Shutov started the game.

The opening period was dominated by the home team. In just the second shift, Vladislav Barulin scored on a rebound, and later Matvey Nadvorny found the net from the slot.

Barys got back into the game when Ansar Shaikhmeddenov beat Filipp Dolganov with a quick shot through the defender. Almost immediately, the Astana team earned a power play, but due to miscommunication, Kirill Kapustin capitalized shorthanded to restore Neftekhimik’s two-goal lead.

A goal by Riley Walsh early in the final period brought intrigue back into the game, but Barys couldn’t find another way past the Nizhnekamsk defense.
On October 29, Mikhail Kravets’ team will play their next game in Omsk against Avangard.
