Barys faced Amur for the second time in Khabarovsk. The Astana coaching staff made several changes to the lineup, bringing Emil Galimov and Kirill Panyukov into the squad, while Michael Vecchione and Maksim Mukhametov were left out.
The visitors once again made a strong start to the game and opened the scoring thanks to a well-worked play involving Jake Massie and Vsevolod Logvin, with the latter finding the back of the net. Amur responded quickly, however, as Alexander Galchenyuk and Ivan Mishchenko scored to turn the game around. Late in the second period, Kirill Slepetsextended the hosts' advantage. Barys' best moments of the middle frame included Max Willman's shot off the post and a big hit delivered by Jake Massie.
Early in the third period, Alikhan Asetov redirected Riley Walsh's shot to cut the deficit to one goal. However, the final word belonged to the home side, as Slepets scored from close range to complete his brace.
On February 4, Mikhail Kravets' team will continue its Far East road trip with a game against Admiral in Vladivostok.
