Barys Get the Better of Avtomobilist

Barys faced Avtomobilist in their final home game of October. Asanali Sarkenov replaced Abzal Alibek as the 13th forward in the lineup. Andrey Shutov was given the starting goaltender role.

The opening period saw Barys enjoy a slight advantage, and the hosts managed to convert one of their chances. Chase Priskie hid his shot behind a defender, catching the visiting goaltender off guard. Artyom Kashtanov equalized midway through the second period after finding himself alone at the top of the offensive zone. However, just over a minute before the intermission, Jake Massie restored Barys’ lead with a shot from the blue line.

In the third period, Dinmukhamed KAIYRZHAN converted a power play after an excellent pass from Priskie. The fourth goal went in after Alikhan Omirbekov’s shot took a deflection off the leg of an Avtomobilist player wearing white and red. That proved to be the final goal of the game. Andrey Shutov made 28 saves.

Barys now face a nine-game road trip. On October 17, Mikhail Kravets’ team will take on Sibir in Novosibirsk.
