Igor Larionov, Head Coach of Torpedo

- I would like to thank the audience for the good atmosphere. They supported their team after a difficult two periods. The team got back into the game and it was a nervous ending in terms of our team's result. On the other hand, I want to thank our guys and congratulate our fans on the victory. It's the start of our long away series, so we're glad we started with a win.

- Why did you let your opponent "get back" into the game in the third period?

- We don't let the fans get bored. We somehow give the game a chance to entice people for all three periods. Basically, we're a good team. We should take it to the winning end pretty confidently. But unfortunately, a bit of concentration and focus is lost. That's what your opponent needs when you slightly start making some mistakes which then turn into a goal. I'm not talking about Adam Khuska now, but overall we lost concentration, confidence. We didn't get a complete game, and that's why we gave Barys a chance to get back into the game and to pressurise moments. But overall, if we talk about a full assessment of the match, we played a good match.

- How do you manage to rebuild a team with such a tough schedule?

- We can't change a schedule that's already formed. We can't refer to the schedule. So we try to ration each player's playing time. To see where we can bring out the best qualities of those who are somewhat fresher. A characteristic of our team is that we don't rely on one link to decide. We have all the people who go out on the ice contributing to the team's scoring. Today another link distinguished itself: Vinogradov, Yan and Firsov. They scored two goals. The youngsters produced a result in last night's game. We don't limit anyone's playing time, we give every player a chance to prove himself. It is very important that every player feels that they are a meaningful part of the team.

Galym Mambetaliyev, acting Head Coach of Barys

- First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the families of the miners who lost their lives. This is a tragedy for Kazakhstan. The whole team offers our condolences.

As for the game: we missed a counterattack, although we were analyzing and demonstrating it. A striker opened up behind, we conceded the first goal. The second goal, we also analysed such moments, the forwards didn't help, they had to go down on the goal crease, there was a putback. We stayed only there, so to speak. We came out for the third period already more energized. Although all periods were not bad, we just need to realize the chances. There were four two-on-one chances, we should score at least one of the four. In the third period we could have won, we played well. In terms of movement so far, I like the team, we'll add to it.

- In the first period, the team had only two shots on the opponent's goal line. Why did this happen?

- There are teams that start off powerfully, and we need to contain that onslaught. We need to get them hooked on this game. At first the guys played more on defence, then the chances started to appear. I think we played the right way, it was necessary not to concede in the first minutes.

- Kirill Polokhov was not in the squad today, can you comment on his absence?

- Today at the warm-up his leg was cut by a skate, they stitched him up, four stitches. His leg was swollen, he couldn't put his skate on, though he wanted to go out, wanted to play. As a result, we played seven defenders today and dressed Gurkov as the 13th forward.
