Barys Suffer Defeat to SKA

Barys concluded the third week of the regular season with a home game against SKA, played in front of the second sold-out crowd of the season. Beibarys Orazov returned to the lineup, replacing Adil Beketayev on defense.

The game began with two scoring chances from the visitors. First, Zakhar Bardakov found the net with a shot from the blue line. Then Sergei Plotnikov confidently converted a 2-on-0 breakaway at the end of his team's penalty kill. Justin Bailey could have brought Barys back into the game on a counterattack, but shortly afterwards the hosts found themselves trailing 0:3, with Plotnikov scoring his second goal of the night.

Vsevolod Logvin followed up on Damir Britikov's shot to beat Artemy Pleshkov. SKA then converted on the power play through Vasily Glotov, after which Andrei Shutov entered the game, and Glotov scored again a minute and a half later while shorthanded. Barys responded with a power-play goal from Logvin.

Semyon Simonov brought Barys back into contention midway through the third period, and the hosts created several more dangerous chances. However, the score remained unchanged until the final siren. On September 30, Mikhail Kravets' side will face Ak Bars in Kazan.
