Barys Falls to Sochi, Ending Its Points Streak

Barys opened their final home series of 2025 with a game against Sochi. Emil Galimov missed the matchup for medical reasons, with Maxim Mukhametov stepping into the lineup in his place.

The opening stretch was dictated by the visitors, who scored three quick goals through Denis Vengryzhanovsky, Daniil Seroukh, and Artyom Volkov. This turn of events forced the Astana coaching staff to make a goaltending change, sending Nikita Boyarkin into the game — his first appearance at Barys Arena this season. Between the home goals conceded, Semyon Simonov found the net for Barys, extending his goal-scoring streak to three games.

In the second period, Cameron Lee increased Sochi’s lead. Shortly before the final horn, Vengryzhanovsky struck again to complete his brace and seal the final score.

On December 23, the Kazakh team will host Traktor on home ice.
