In the second game of their road trip, Barys faced Dynamo Moscow. The Astana coaching staff kept the same lineup following the win in Yekaterinburg.
The scoring was opened late in the 28th minute, when Daniil Pylenkov punished the visitors for a third consecutive penalty. Barys responded fairly quickly. Kirill Savitsky found Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan with a pass from behind the net. While Maxim Motorygin managed to stop the initial shot, Ansar Shaikhmeddenov converted the rebound to tie the game.
The final period belonged to the visitors, who made the most of their chances. First, Semyon Simonov finished off a sweeping counterattack. Then Ian McCoshen fired a blistering shot from the blue line. Ten minutes later, Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan capitalized on the power play after a precise feed from Alikhan Omirbekov. A late power-play goal by Nikita Gusev shortly before the final horn made no difference to the outcome.
On December 21, the Kazakh team will host Sochi on home ice.
