Ust-Kamenogorsk hosted the final of Kazakhstan’s second most prestigious youth hockey trophy.
Barys and Aktobe saved the drama for the third period, where the capital team had more left in the tank. Remarkably, Andrey Shayanov’s squad scored the game-winner shorthanded with just 38 seconds remaining – Tamerlan Tleubaev was the hero. Nuraly Aitmagambetov netted a brace, while Dmitry Ryashin stopped 18 shots.

Thus, Barys claimed the Kazakhstan Youth Cup for the first time in its history. Two of their players were named best at their positions: Dmitry Ryashin earned Best Goalie honors, while Aldiyar Kalelkhan was recognized as the tournament’s Best Defenseman.
