Barys Snatch Victory Over Lada

In the final game of the Bashkortostan Republic Cup, Barys faced Lada. Forward Timur Mindubayev and defenceman Damir Britikov made their first appearances of the tournament, while Hunter Shepard once again started in goal for the Astana side.

The scoring was opened early in the second period. Rasim Shakirov scored his third goal of the tournament to put Lada ahead. However, Barys responded quickly. Batyrkhan Muratov made an individual rush and delivered a precise pass to Ansar Shaikhmeddenov, who was well positioned in front of the net. Ansar made no mistake and levelled the score.

The decisive moment came shortly before the final siren. The line of Thompson, Pillon and Simonov produced an excellent counterattack, with Kazakh forward Semyon Simonov scoring the game-winning goal for the Astana side. Simonov was later named the Player of the Match.

Mikhail Kravets' team finished third in the Bashkortostan Republic Cup standings with two points. Chase Priskie was named the tournament's Best Defenceman by the competition organisers.
