Berglund and Assetov after the match with CSKA

Barys forwarders Jacob Berglund and Alikhan Assetov shared their impressions after a strong-willed victory over CSKA Moscow.

Jacob Berglund

- We had a bad first period. The opponent was better, scored twice. Although we also had two moments when the guys hit the bars. But it's good that we were able to add more offence. In the second and third periods, we played a different hockey, more intelligent. We took advantage of our chances, and scored in the majority. This is good for us.

- What was the reason for such a transformation of the game?

- The coaches have once again voiced what they wanted from us. I think every player at half-time, so to speak, "looked in the mirror", rethought his actions. For the second and third periods, there was another team on the ice.

- Your first goal for Barys. How does it feel?

- It's always nice to score goals, especially in such important matches. I am glad that my goal helped the team to equalize the score, then we continued to score. What's more important is we won.

- You play next with Dinamo Riga. What to expect from this game?

- Well, it will be another difficult match. We need to start not like today. If there is the same first period, it will be more difficult for us to save the game again. Therefore, we need to stick to our plan from the first minutes, then everything will be fine.

Alikhan Assetov

- We conceded two goals, we had to recoup urgently. We desperately need points now. Today, most of them worked well, Darren scored his goals, which we needed so much. It's good that we made it to victory.

- In the third period, we scored almost as many goals as in the last four matches.

- We came out inspired, everyone ran forward. It was necessary to recoup. There was nothing to lose, everyone wanted to turn the tide of the match and win. Everyone was focused on the gate. We shot a lot, spent a lot of time in the offensive zone shooting pucks and charging the net, worked.

- During the game, you were put in line with Berglund and Savitsky. Did you mind-meld quickly?

- Yes, I started with Shaikhmeddenov and Petukhov. Yegor and I tried to help Ansar as much as we could. Then the coaching staff decided to change the combinations a little. I went with Jacob and Kirill. I think we played well. We scored two goals. The main thing is that it benefited the team.
