Boris Ivanishchev and Andrey Skabelka answered questions from the media

A regulated meeting of Barys hockey club's management with media representatives took place in press center of the Barys Arena. Questions of journalists were answered by the club president, Boris Ivanishchev, and head coach of first team, Andrey Skabelka.

Andrey Skabelka on the Cup of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

- Let's start with the fact that this is a pre-season tournament, we did a lot of work earlier. We had no matches with rivals before this tournament, at the same time we played quite a lot of two-sided games. We had six lines fully working at the training camp, and somewhere we followed the game mode. As for the President's Cup, of course, there was a very good organization. Secondly, audience had a quite high interest. I would like to thank the fans for such interest and support. It was a nice meeting which was noted by many guys. As for the sports component, as I have already said, something has turned out to be good, but something else needs to be worked out.

- Team has been seriously updated. To date, we have decided that Nikita Mikhailis will be the captain, with Linden Vey and Anton Sagadeyev as assistants. Basically, as I have always said, every player is a captain, and everyone can be a leader. I hope that it will be so. Perhaps we will change something in the future, adjust it if necessary.

- The meeting was not a matter of principle for us. It is fundamental for us to win in every match. And it is not important for us what opponent will be in the game.

- I have a good impression, and it is for a reason. Boris Anatolyevich and I talked about him back in the summer. Since the beginning of training camp, he has been showing himself well. He is the one who comes first and leaves the last trainings. Very diligent, and has necessary abilities. While the guy is developing, we will see what happens next.

- We are going into the season with Boyarkin and Shutov. We will see who will start the match. There are three games ahead, we will discuss it later. They both did a great job, and it depends only on them how they can achieve a serious level. In training, they stimulate each other well, fight for the place of the first goalkeeper. I think this competition will help them become stronger and grow into powerful goalkeepers who will close position in the national team.

- So far we are doing on our own, but the season is long, God forbid,  something goes wrong and we have injuries. It will be seen as the season progresses. So far, our goalkeepers are coping with all the stuff.

- We had planned games in Almaty next season, but unfortunately, it will not be possible to hold them due to the new calendar. We are planning to hold them next year. Holding matches in other cities is questionable, so far only Ice Palace in Almaty complies with KHL regulations.

- We made him an offer. Always a decent hockey player strives for a better salary and for a club with serious tasks. He will play for the national team. But he accepted the offer of another club. It is hard for us to compete with such clubs.

- All KHL clubs have updated their logos. Only we waited 23 years. It is very good for fans to buy products with a new logo.

- Everything will depend on financial possibilities. It will be seen next year.

- I think that Snezhnye Barsy perform well in the Kazakhstan championship. In my opinion, they get more benefit by playing with adult teams.

- This is the club's system. We are adding those players who can participate, and the decision on whether they will play at the Kazakhstan Cup or not will be made later. Now they are going with team to the tournament in Chelyabinsk, preparing for the season together with Barys.

Andrey Skabelka on team recruitment and readiness for the upcoming season.

- It is difficult to say now how many percent the team is ready. We played only three games at the tournament, it turned out to be quite informative. Now we are going to the tournament in Chelyabinsk. We think that all teams here will be in almost optimal line-ups. I think this tournament will be more informative and will show how much this or that position needs strengthening. We have done serious summer work for now. It is clear that forming a team is not an easy process. Regarding selection, I have already answered that we are working on it every day and will continue to do so. Now we only need to play to see the problem areas.
