Barys continued their five-game home series with a matchup against Lada. Anton Burdasov and Viktor Antipin returned to the Astana team’s lineup.

The opening period saw the hosts dominate play, creating at least three solid scoring chances. However, Lada’s defense, led by goaltender Alexander Trushkov, held strong. In the second period, Barys finally capitalized on their opportunities, with two young players netting their first-ever KHL goals. Mstislav Shipilin scored with a blue-line shot, while Kirill Lyapunov found success on a rebound. The period was marred by an injury to Nikita Boyarkin, who was unable to continue, leading to Johan Mattsson stepping in at the 25-minute mark.

In the final period, Anton Burdasov hit the goal frame on a power play, but then the visitors turned the game around. Mikhailov scored twice, Igor Ozhgikhin netted the game-winner, and Dmitry Kugryshev sealed the victory with an empty-netter.

On February 17, Galym Mambetaliyev’s squad will host Metallurg on home ice.
