Snezhnye Barsy continue their preseason preparations at the tournament in Tula — their debut and only competition of the off-season, serving as an important test for the team’s renewed roster. Earlier, Anton Vasin’s squad played exhibition games against Nomad and Almaty, both competing in Kazakhstan’s senior league.
Head coach Anton Alexandrovich noted in his interview with mhl.ru:
“Almost the entire roster is new, with players on tryout contracts coming from different cities across Kazakhstan. Right now, we have six and a half lines, but in Tula we’ll likely be playing with the roster that will start the season — about 80% sure. We’ll bring five lines to the tournament, rotating players each game. Everyone’s working hard, giving their best, and following the system.”
The Astana side’s first opponent will be the hosts of the tournament, Mikhailov Academy. They’ll also face teams from the Western Division.
