It was the second match in this week between Barys and Ak Bars that had been held on Friday. Coaching staff made only one change to the team after game with Jokerit – Pavel Akolzin replaced Kirill Panyukov.
The ones who took the first lead were hosts - Nikita Mikhailis deftly scored the goal on a rebound after Jacob Lilja's throw. Ak Bars responded with an accurate shot from Kirill Petrov.
