KHL. Barys - Avtomobilist. Trainer's comments (video)

After the match Barys – Avtomobilist (0:2) a press conference was held with the Head Trainers of both teams.

Nikolai Zavarukhin Avtomobilist Head Trainer

- We prepared our guys for a tough game. We were aware that Barys in the last games, both at home and in Chelyabinsk, started their first periods really solid. It's great that the guys got to listen. We played the first period in a tight game. There was a lot of pressure, the game went to the goal. It's great that we scored on the counterattack in the second period. We played to the score in the third period. The guys followed the instructions, thank them. It was a hard victory, a lot of battles, a lot of blocked shots.

- Three days ago in Ekaterinburg it was a completely different game with plenty of chances and goals. What's different today?

- Each game is different from the previous one It is clear that in that match we were losing. Started very badly at home. Maybe it was the big ice factor, the quality of ice in Ekaterinburg was a little better than today. The puck was bouncing around a lot.

- Avtomobilist gave the opponent several chances to power play performances.

- Yes, there were a lot of penalties today. Our short-handed brigade worked well today, they did not miss a beat. Somewhere the puckstopper sweeped up.

Andrei Skabelka, Barys Head Trainer

- We should have scored first in this game. A lot of work has been done. I have no complaints to the guys. We should score on a power play like this. That's the difference between winning and losing, whether you score on the power play or not. Especially with a score like that. Good first period. There were four power plays before the score was 0-2. We didn't use them. Although there were many good moments, like Ansar's. Nikita led him off well, but failed to score. The opponent's keeper played great. Unfortunately, we could not win today's game.

- Tomorrow the youth national team will fly to Norway for the world championship in the first division. Will Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan go?

- Sure he will. It is the honor of the country. I'm sure Dimash is ready for this championship. I hope he will show his leadership qualities and lead the team. He got a lot of playing practice in KHL. I hope it helps him to be a confident leader.

- This is the third game we haven't seen Jeremy Bracco. What is the reason for this decision?

- We didn't take him on the trip. We weren't very happy with his play. We expect a stable and productive game from everyone, but more from the mercenaries. I mentioned before, a new league for him, and at the same time not only for him. We have about seven people having their first season in KHL. Both our guys and the mercenaries. Not everyone can enter this league right off the bat. Jeremy has a number of good qualities, they should be put together. I hope he and I can make it work. Then it will be a serious leader of the team.

- Michael Chaput is injured, the third time this season. Chaput terminated his participation in Barys by family circumstances Did you let him go so he could recover or for other reasons?

- Michael really wants to be on our team. And we really wanted it to be. Because it is a strong, including physically. We gave him the opportunity to consult with his doctors to see if he could continue the season without surgery. If so, we're waiting for him back. The situation is as follows.
