KHL. Barys - Sibir. Press conference (video)

A press conference with participation of head coaches was held after the match Barys - Sibir (2:1 ОТ).

Andrey Martemyanov, Head Coach of Sibir:

- I want to thank the team and our goalkeeper for their persistent defensive play, today we had to play a lot in our zone. Barys looked very powerful in attack, we still did not fight back, but defended. I am happy that we made a point. We could have taken more, if not for a combination of some circumstances. But it is what it is, I think a point is better than nothing.

Yuri Mikhailis, Head Coach of Barys:

- It was a tough match today. We saw that the opponent came for victory and was ready to fight to the end. The first period was held in an equal struggle. In the second period, we had an advantage and we made a lot of scoring chances, but it was still difficult for us to get goals. In the third period, there was an equal fight again. In overtime, we greatly capitalized on the power play. Thank you guys! Joni Ortio also played very well today.

- What were you guided by when you made a decision on appointment of a new physical trainer?

- I looked for the guy who is experienced and knows how to prepare teams. He arrived and immediately found a common ground with the guys and coaching staff. So it will only benefit our team.

- Christian Thomas was not included in the lineup today. Is this your coaching decision?

- This is a decision of the entire coaching staff. We understood that Sibir would arrive today and fight for the victory. We needed a player like Kirill Savitsky, who fought for every puck today as well. In general, he did a great job for the team in this match.
