KHL. Barys - Sochi. Before the match

Barys will host Sochi on home ice, opening its away series, on the first day of winter. Sochi arrived in Nur-Sultan after a 3-2 home win over Dinamo Riga. The goals were made by Igor Rudenkov and Malte Strömwall who scored twice. Shortly after this game Strömwall was swapped in SKA on three players from system of the St. Petersburg club.

Sochi is currently ranked 11th in the Western Conference. Yevgeny Stavrovsky's team has 21 points in 30 matches. Goalkeeper Alexey Krasikov and defender Rafael Batyrshin will not help the team in the upcoming matches. Both players are on the injured reserve.

Barys opened the home series with a labor victory over Spartak on Sunday. Victory was brought to the team by accurate shots from Curtis Valk and Jakob Lilja, as well as a confident game on the last line by Henrik Karlsson, who blocked 39 shots.

Team of Yuri Mikhailis earned 27 points in 27 games - 9th place in the Eastern Conference. Team's infirmary includes defenders Darren Dietz and Jesse Blacker, as well as forward Dmitry Shevchenko. Defender Samat Daniyar was called up from Nomad to the first team as well.

In the first match of the current season, held at the end of October, Sochi beat Barys with 3-0 on home ice thanks to goals from the same Strömwall and Daniil Miromanov (double). 

The match starts at Barys Arena at 17:00 capital time.
