The team from the capital of Tatarstan with a meeting with Barys will complete their home series, which Ak Bars won only one victory, but in all three games the Kazan team has scored points. Last round, Oleg Znark's team lost in overtime to Avtomobilist, 1-2. The only goal was scored by Ilya Safonov. Goalkeeper Amir Miftakhov saved 28 shots. Despite the defeat, the Ak Bars head trainer noted that in this game he saw a team that fought to the end and had character. 

The Kazan team scored 19 points in 14 games, their third best result in the East. Alexander Radulov is the most prolific player on the team, with 13 (8+5) points on his record. Forward Dmitry Voronkov was listed as injured in the evening of October 7. Also, Ak Bars cannot be expected to rely on defender Kirill Adamchuk in the near future, he is currently serving a five-match disqualification.

The team's top scorer, Jeremy Bracco (13 points, 5+8), breaks his three-game hitting streak. Dmitriy Gurkov and Michael Chaput remain in the injured reserve.
