Barys closes the January game schedule with a homestand game against Dynamo Moscow.

Capital of Russia's team has not been very successful so far in their trip to the east. On Friday, Dynamo lost in overtime to Avangard (2-3). Vladislav Yefremov and Kirill Gotovets scored one point, while Ilya Konovalov made 23 saves. Alexei Kudashov, Moscow's head trainer, noted that he was pleased to see his players play, but made a few mistakes, resulting in a couple of goals.

In 56 games, Dynamo netted 73 points, currently fifth in the Western Conference.  Jordan Weal (11+23) is the team's top sharpshooter. Puckstopper Konstantin Volkov ranks in second place in the League for goals against average and among the top five puckstoppers for percentage of shots saved. Jakob Lilja and Alexei Potapov are on the injured list.

Andrei Skabelka's team has scored points in their last five games. Last week, Astana team defeated one of its biggest rivals for the playoffs - Traktor, 4-3 at home. Alex Grant scored a double, Alexander Borisevich and Nikita Mikhailis scored once each, and Jeremy Bracco assisted his teammates three times. Julius Hudacek saved 40 shots, his best result of this season. Andrei Skabelka praised the importance of the victory and also pleased the powerplay brigade.

Kazakhstan team has 56 points after 58 meetings. Barys is only behind Neftekhimik in the fight for eighth place on tiebreaker. However, the density at the bottom of the Eastern standings remains unbelievable. Linden Vey (16+20), the team's most prolific player, is still on injured reserve. There is a good chance that Kirill Savitski will return to the main roster.
