Barys closes the first home series of the season by a match with Spartak.

Spartak was defeated for the first time in this season on Thursday. In Ufa, the Moscow team lost to Salavat Yulaev - 1:2. Author of the only goal was Sergey Shirokov. Team rookie, Emil Pettersson, extended his points streak, which includes four meetings. Goalkeeper Alexey Krasikov has recorded 23 saves as well.

Coach of the red-white team Boris Mironov thanked his players for a great match, and noted that the team had a task to play in defence.

Barys outplayed Amur on Wednesday and achieved their first victory of the season. Scoring in the current championship was opened by Curtis Valk, Alikhan Asset and Arkady Shestakov, the last of them made winning shorthanded goal. Kirill Savitsky earned the first scoring point in the KHL, while Jacob Berglund played for the first time in Barys jersey. Joni Ortio blocked 19 shots on net.

Head coach of Barys, Yuri Mikhailis, highlighted a successful start of the game, but was dissatisfied with a large number of penalties in the end.

Forward Roman Starchenko, who has been transferred to the injured reserve, will not be able to help the Nur-Sultan team in the upcoming match. As of September 10, Spartak had defender Yakov Rylov in the injured reserve as well.

Last season, Barys and Spartak held two meetings, and the Kazakhstan team won both times (3:2 OT and 2:1).
