Barys finishes the homestand series with Vityaz.

Two months have passed since the first meeting between both teams in the regular season. Barys suffered a rather sensitive 0-5 defeat in Balashikha on September 7.

The Moscow region team lost to Avangard in Omsk last week, 1-3. Alexander Yaremchuk (9+10), Vityaz's top sharpshooter, added to his scoring tally in four straight games. Goalkeeper Dmitry Shikin saved 23 shots on goal. Vyacheslav Butsayev, Vityaz's head trainer, mentioned that the team was far from its best form after the match.

Vityaz currently sits at sixth place in the West standings. The team has 30 points after 27 matches. Defenseman Jeremy Roy leads the league in (+20) statistics. Puckstopper Maxim Dorozhko is the best in the KHL in deflected shots (95.6%) and second best according to goals against average (1.46). Defenseman Roman Abrosimov and forward Tyler Graovac were on the injured list as of the evening of November 7.

Last tour, Barys lost to Admiral at homestand match - 1:4. Yegor Petukhov scored his eighth goal of the season, right now he is the team's second-leading scorer. Defenseman Tamirlan Gaitamirov earned his first point in the KHL. Puckstopper Julius Hudacek didn't play his best and only saved 16 of 20 shots. Andrei Skabelka said that after four consecutive penalties in the second period, his team lacked the concentration to equalize the score.

After a series of unsuccessful matches, Barys left the Eastern Conference's cup eight. The Kazakhstan team has 25 points after 27 games. Linden Vey (12+6) remains Astana's top sharpshooter,. Ansar Shaikhmeddenov and Michael Chaput were taken off the injured list and are training in the general group for two days. Nikita Mikhailis is still in the injured reserve.
