KHL. Playoff. Barys – Metallurg. Before the match. Game 2.

The second match of Gagarin Cup first round playoff series between Barys and Metallurg will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan on Tuesday. The first game ended with the local team winning 4-0. The first goal scorer from Barys in the playoffs-2020 was Curtis Valk, his initiative in the second period was supported by Atte Ohtamaa, who powerfully clicked into the near corner. In the final third of the match, Barys scored two takeaways, sponsored by Iiro Pakarinen and Darren Dietz. Eddie Pasquale played his first game in KHL playoffs - the canadian had 34 reflected shots and, accordingly, the first dry match in the spring stage of the championship. Dustin Boyd played his 500th game in the KHL.   
 
Metallurg created enough chances at Barys goal in the opening game of the playoffs, but could not crack Eddie Pasquale's net. Magnitogorsk went off the ice for the first time in five years without scoring goals in the playoffs. The last time Metallurg suffered a doughnut was on March 13, 2015, when it lost to Sibir' – 0:2. During the match, the visitors were forced to recompose the team – Brandon Kozun did not finish the match due to damage. It is possible that the canadian striker will miss the second match.
