KHL. Severstal – Barys. Before the match

 Barys holds its postponed matches of the regular season, while season is facing an international pause. Team will play with local Severstal in Cherepovets on Tuesday. This is the first of the matches in the West trip of our team. Earlier in the week, Barys beat Dinamo Riga at home. Linus Videll's hundredth goal in the KHL marked the beginning of success, later Curtis Valk and Matt Frattin scored in uneven lineups - 3:0. Yoni Ortio blocked 26 shots, registered his second shutout of the season and was named the first star of the game day. In the Eastern Conference table, Barys is in 10th position with 20 points in 18 games. Defender Alexey Maklyukov has been removed from the injured reserve and ready to take part in the match. Rookies Philip Varone and Dillon Heatherington are expected to make their KHL debut the day before. The next match will be Alikhan Asetov's hundredth one in the League. 

Severstal has been preparing for the match with Barys for a whole week. Andrey Razin team has crushed Jokerit at home on Sunday - 5:2. At the same time, the head coach of Severstal cannot manage the team yet, his duties are performed by Vladimir Leshko. In the match with the Finns, the hosts were particularly successful in the third period, during which three unanswered goals flew into the net of Jokerit – Daniil Vovchenko scored two goals and Alexander Petunin had three assists. In the Western Conference table, Severstal is on the fourth line with 25 points in 21 games. The injured reserve has three strikers – Jindrich Abdul, Vladislav Kodola and Egor Chizhikov.
