Meanwhile, Barys Astana and Vikings Prague produced a true hockey thriller, combining for 12 goals in regulation time. The teams traded the lead throughout the game. Luka Chukreyev scored twice for the hosts, while Petr Popsimov netted a pair for the visitors. The contest eventually went to a shootout, where the Czech side proved more accurate. The decisive shootout goal was scored by Petr Petrach.

As a result, SKA Army finished first in Group A with two convincing wins and only three goals conceded. Tournament newcomers Vikings also advanced to the semifinals. Hosts Barys will compete tomorrow in the game for fifth place.
