Before the Game: Barys vs. Admiral

Barys’ second opponent in the current home series will be Admiral.

In their previous game, the team from the Far East lost to Ak Bars in a shootout at home (1:2). Libor Šulák added to his goal tally, while goaltender Andrey Mishurov made 37 saves. Head coach Leonid Tambiev noted that his team lacked a power-play goal and better finishing in their scoring chances.

In 47 regular season games, the Vladivostok team has earned 48 points. Admiral’s top scorer is Daniil Gutik, who has 36 points (17+19) to his name. Forward Yegor Stepanov remains on the injured list.

On Sunday, Barys lost to league leaders Lokomotiv (0:3). The outcome was decided in the second period, during which Yaroslavl scored twice on the power play. Goaltender Nikita Boyarkin stopped 30 shots on target. Head coach Galym Mambetaliyev remarked that his team showed a lack of composure in finishing their chances.

The Kazakh team currently sits at 25 points after 48 games. Batyrlan Muratov has been removed from the injured list.

The match between Barys and Admiral is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM Astana time.
