On Sunday, Barys lost to league leaders Lokomotiv (0:3). The outcome was decided in the second period, during which Yaroslavl scored twice on the power play. Goaltender Nikita Boyarkin stopped 30 shots on target. Head coach Galym Mambetaliyev remarked that his team showed a lack of composure in finishing their chances.
The Kazakh team currently sits at 25 points after 48 games. Batyrlan Muratov has been removed from the injured list.
