Barys continues their opening home stretch of the new season with a matchup against Amur.
In their season opener, the Khabarovsk side shut out Sibir on the road (2–0). Goals from Sergei Dubakin and Oleg Li secured the win, while Maxim Dorozhko made 34 saves. New head coach Alexander Galchenyuk praised his players’ commitment, noting their willingness to block shots. Amur currently sits on two points.
Barys, meanwhile, edged Traktor 4–3 in overtime in front of a nearly sold-out arena. Tyce Thompson and Riley Walsh scored their first career KHL goals, with Walsh netting the winner. Ansar Shaikhmenddenov (1+1) and Kirill Savitsky also got on the board. Michael Vecchione, Emil Galimov, Mason Morelli, and Jake Massie recorded their first points in a Barys jersey. Andrey Shutov stopped 27 shots. Head coach Mikhail Kravets credited the victory to the energy from the fans and the solid teamwork across all lines.
