
Barys opens its second home series of the new season with a game against Dynamo Moscow.
Aleksey Kudashov’s team will finish their road trip through the eastern part of the KHL after a 1-4 loss to Admiral and a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Amur. In Khabarovsk Dynamo's success was secured by goals from Cédric Paquette and Artem Ilyenko, as well as 22 saves from Hunter Miska. The Moscow team's coach noted that even in the most successful games, there are always quality issues to work on.
After three wins in eight games at the start of the season, the blue and whites have six points. Nikita Gusev (2+4) and Brennan Menell (1+5) are currently the team’s top scorers.
Barys lost to Vityaz on Saturday (1-4), with the Moscow region team capitalizing on three power plays. The only goal for Barys was scored by Adil Beketayev, his first of the season. Kirill Panyukov and Alihan Omirbekov provided their first assists of the season, while Johan Mattsson made 30 saves.
The Kazakh team still has only three points. Michael McLeod (2+1) remains Astana's top scorer. Daniil Apalkov has recovered from illness and may return to the lineup today. The injured list includes defensemen Nathan Beaulieu and Viktor Antipin, as well as forwards Batyrlan Muratov and Damir Zhafyarov.
