Barys will host Neftekhimik in their first home game of 2026.
In their previous outing, the team from Nizhnekamsk defeated Ak Bars 2–0 in the Tatarstan derby in Kazan. Goals from Grigory Seleznev and Bulat Shafigullin, along with 27 saves by Yaroslav Ozolin—who recorded his first KHL shutout—secured the win for the Wolves. Head coach Igor Grishin noted that his team is gradually maturing, gaining confidence, and that this progress is translating into results.
Neftekhimik has 49 points after 46 games. The team’s leading scorer is Andrey Belozerov with 38 points (21 goals, 17 assists).
Barys, meanwhile, lost in overtime to Avtomobilist (1–2) on Monday in Yekaterinburg. Thies Thompson scored the lone goal for the Astana side, while Jake Massey reached the 10-assist mark for the season. Michael Vekkyone (10+18) caught up with Riley Walsh (9+19) in the internal scoring race. Goaltender Nikita Boyarkin made 16 saves. Head coach Mikhail Kravets remarked that his players controlled the initiative throughout all three periods and gave 200 percent effort, but once again struggled with finishing.
After 46 games, Barys has collected 37 points. Forward Kirill Savitsky remains on the injured list.
