
In the fourth game of their home series, Barys will face Severstal.
Severstal recently suffered a 3-5 home loss to SKA. The goals for the Cherepovets team were scored by Mikhail Kotlyarevsky, Adam Liska, and Ioannis Kaldis. Goaltender Konstantin Shostak made 24 saves. Head coach Andrey Kozyrev noted that his team lost control of the game due to penalties in the middle of the second period, allowing their opponents to take over.
Severstal currently has 69 points after 55 games. The team’s top scorer, Kirill Pilipenko (26+23), is just one point away from reaching 50 for the season. Danil Aymurzin (28 goals) ranks among the league’s top four goal scorers. Defensemen Yaroslav Dyblenko and Artyom Shchuchinov are listed as injured.
Barys, meanwhile, lost 1-3 to Metallurg on Monday. Mikhail Rakhmanov added another goal to his tally, while Andrey Shutov made 34 saves. Head coach Galym Mambetaliyev stated that his team lacked focus and movement, despite showing their usual level of effort.
The Astana team remains at 29 points after 56 games. Goaltender Nikita Boyarkin has been placed on the injured list and will miss the remainder of the KHL season. Samat Daniyar will also sit out due to an injury sustained in the game against Metallurg. However, Danil Butenko, Kirill Panyukov, and Roman Starchenko are expected to return to the lineup.
In their last meeting in December, Barys lost 3-5 on the road against Severstal.
