In their first home game of spring, Barys will face Sibir.

The Novosibirsk team, currently holding the final playoff spot in the East, suffered a 3-6 home loss to Ak Bars in the previous round. Andy Andreoff scored twice, with Vladimir Butuzov adding another goal. Anton Krasotkin made 31 saves, but Vadim Epanchintsev noted that his team struggled in key moments and faced difficulties converting chances.

After 60 games, Sibir has 61 points. Trevor Murphy (13+43) is the top playmaker and highest-scoring defenseman of the season. Denis Kostin ranks in the league’s top three goaltenders with a 93.1% save percentage. Defenseman Fyodor Gordeev remains on the injured list.

Barys, meanwhile, suffered a devastating 0-8 loss to Traktor on Sunday, in what was Anton Burdasov’s 800th career game. The match saw a debut for 20-year-old goaltender Artem Shestakov, who replaced Andrei Shutov after the first period. Galym Mambetaliev pointed out that the team struggled from the start, making it hard to bounce back.

Barys sits at 31 points after 61 games. Andrei Shutov has been ruled out for the rest of the regular season, while Maksim Mukhametov has returned from injury.

So far this season, Barys and Sibir have split their head-to-head matchups with two wins each (3:1, 4:3 OT – 2:0, 2:0).
