Barys continues its road trip with a matchup against Lada.
In their previous game, Lada suffered a 2-3 away loss to Salavat Yulaev. The goals were scored by Artyom Manukyan and Arkhip Nekolenko, while Konstantin Volkov made 39 saves. Head coach Pavel Zubov pointed out that unnecessary penalties in the latter half of the third period led to the defeat.
Lada has collected 46 points in 58 games. The team’s top scorer is Nikita Mikhailov (8+21). Currently, the injured list includes defenseman Denis Barantsev and forwards Evgeny Groshev, Pavel Koltygin, Vladislav Chervonenko, and Yegor Chernikov.
Barys, meanwhile, lost 1-4 in Magnitogorsk on Wednesday. Nineteen-year-old Semyon Simonov scored his second career KHL goal, while Andrey Shutov recorded 22 saves. Head coach Galym Mambetaliev also pointed to unnecessary penalties and poor finishing as key issues. The Kazakh team has earned 29 points in 59 regular-season games.
